Do We Really Need Validation?

Validation, basically meaning recognition or declaration that a person’s feelings or/and ideas are worthy. It can also mean seeking others approval. But do we really need to be approved by others? Doesn’t every human has a different mind with different views?

We live in the world of HYPOCRISY. We see and hear people making wise statements daily but never notice the hypocrisy in that. I read the quote “Finding oneself in the approval of others is called “self murder” ‘. If that’s so then why do the same people seek approval. I’m not complaining about hearing someone’s opinions or suggestions. We should respect everyone’s views regardless we agree or not. But don’t let others views put you down. At the end every person is different with an individual mind. If it wasn’t the case then every place would be ‘Land Of Cards’ like in the story of Rabindranath Tagore’s “Tashar Desh”. We are our own masters because it is said ‘Life Is Too Valuable To Live Like Everyone Else’.

Insecurity and criticism are the root causes of validation. It’s not wrong to criticize yourself as a person is the worst critic of himself but it’s not fine either to criticize yourself all the time. Criticism is well explained in my blog. Similarly, insecurity can put you in the same situation. And, when a person is insecure, he goes for validation to rectify the solution.

Just keep in mind, you can be your worst critic but that shouldn’t let others to validate you. I agree some people need to be validated but if your thoughts aren’t respected and are ridiculed, it’s okay. But if your thoughts are against society and are against humanity then you have no right to seek or even expect validation.

Jack Of All Trades

Is there a difference between being an all rounder and a jack of all trades?

Jack of all trades is a figure of speech used for a person who is good at doing all sorts of work but isn’t master of one. Its usually said “jack of all trades but master of none”.

Is it bad to be good at everything when someone out there is the best at one. Well I guess a person is his own worst critic. People have tendency to convince themselves that someone could be better than him. I can do number of tasks and I’m good at them. So it called being an all rounder or jack of all trades. All rounder sounds as positive as negative hack of all trades sounds.

But if we look in broader sense being a jack of all trades is not also a common trait as being best at a certain thing is. Sometimes, the thing you feel you are really great at may not be felt by other person. Here is the place where ego and criticism meet. Or maybe it’s just confidence.

Being a jack doesn’t make you good for nothing. At least one can do several tasks at average level.
