Do We Really Need Validation?

Validation, basically meaning recognition or declaration that a person’s feelings or/and ideas are worthy. It can also mean seeking others approval. But do we really need to be approved by others? Isn’t every human has a different mind with different views?

We live in the world of HYPOCRISY. We see and hear people making wise statements daily but never notice the hypocrisy in that. I read the quote “Finding oneself in the approval of others is called “self murder” ‘. If that’s so then why do the same people seek approval. I’m not complaining about hearing someone’s opinions or suggestions. We should respect everyone’s views regardless we agree or not. But don’t let others views put you down. At the end every person is different with an individual mind. If it wasn’t the case then every place would be ‘Land Of Cards’ like in the story of Rabindranath Tagore’s “Tashar Desh”. We are our own masters because it is said ‘Life Is Too Valuable To Live Like Everyone Else’.

Insecurity and criticism are the root causes of validation. It’s not wrong to criticize yourself as a person is the worst critic of himself but it’s not fine either to criticize yourself all the time. Criticism is well explained in my blog. Similarly, insecurity can put you in the same situation. And, when a person is insecure, he goes for validation to rectify the solution.

Just keep in mind, you can be your worst critic but that shouldn’t let others to validate you. I agree some people need to be validated but if your thoughts aren’t respected and are ridiculed, it’s okay. But if your thoughts are against society and are against humanity then you have no right to seek or even expect validation.

The New Beginning

Today, I turned a new leaf.

The fire burning in my soul is finally extinguished.

It did leave burns, It did leave marks.

The damage caused is irreversible. But this doesn’t

                     mean it can’t be repaired.

Once upon a time, I was a strong girl.

Hurricane, flood, nothing could wipe that strength away from me.

But, all of the sudden I found myself surrounded with dark clouds,

                The dark clouds of melancholia.

I was lost, fighting each second, to find my way out.

It seemed as if all my efforts went in vain.

It felt as if I was thrown into the sea, not knowing how to swim.

                           I felt suffocated.

                There was avalanche of panic.

But no one was there to save me.

I was alone, all to myself.

No one could save me but myself.

I put myself together and escaped from the cage of utmost

                              dismay.

I experienced depression, insomnia,loneliness and

                           self-hatred.

But it failed to break me apart

Because today, I turned a new leaf.

Every Cloud Has A silver Lining

‘Every cloud has a silver lining’- the most contradictory idiom, according to me. It is one of the most popular sayings which means never lose hope, difficult today leads to better tomorrow. The origin of the idiom traces back to 1634 and was given by John Milton.

After this, so many similar meaning idioms came such as, ‘After storm comes the calm’, ‘whatever happens, happens for good’,’every negative occurrence has a positive aspect to it’ etc.

Well those bad times can be well compared to the clouds. But sometimes those dark clouds just lead to a big storm which leaves huge destruction. The destruction caused is irrevocable. Even if it could be reverse, it just takes a lot of time and sometimes leaves permanent damage.  The damage caused is heartbreaking and sometimes leads to death.

The dark clouds revolving around the mind can be depressing. It is up to a person how they shoo the dark clouds away so the Sun can shine happily again. It is the time when everything feels irritating and you just don’t feel like doing anything. Deep inside there is a realisation that it’s just simply waste of time and you are the one who has to put that realisation to action. It requires will power. Just take an initiative. It’s easy to say than do. But trust me, the same is happening to me. Just waiting for the storm to get over. It’s even more frustrating when you forcefully do a work but that is the first step.

I may find the idiom contradicting and not so true but there is no harm in trying. I guess the storm will be over soon and I will see the Sun shining again.

Paper Towns

This blog is inspired from the book ‘Paper Towns’ by ‘John Green’. The novel is about a girl named Margo.

Paper Town is the fake town created by map makers. They put fake bridges and landmarks to ensure that their work hasn’t been copied.

The concept put me into deep thinking. Do humans have tendency to create their own paper town? Does every person creates his own world of expectations, perceptions etc?

The Walk

I still remember the walk I took,

After my school, towards the forest.

The magnificent beauty in every nook,

Mesmerised me like a song to chorist.

The trees, the grass and the flowers

Were looking so beautiful.

Seemed like blissful showers,

Under which hours could be delightful.

Under the spell of bountiful nature,

I got disturbed by the ring of my duties,

Telling me to watch my time and be mature,

Confronted by real life cruelties.

At that point, the bitter dogma was realised,

Life is a race and many are to be beaten.

There is no time for things to be relished,

Save yourselves from being eaten.

It’s Never Too Late

It’s never too late,

My best friend said this in the phase,

When thoughts were in doubt

And future was on stake.

Dreams are like poetry in motion,

If you don’t realise them, my friend

They will turn into

Utmost dilution.

This is the dogma of the world.

Follow your dreams, make your own path.

Then each day will be a steam bath.

Why don’t you realise?

Happiness will be the ultimate prize.

The goal, the prize you always craved,

It can lead to your name being engraved.

It’s never too late,

To realise your euphoric fate.

At the end,

Age is just an illusion

That shouldn’t be misused

For your dreams’ avulsion.

Childhood

Childhood is the most precious stage of a person’s life. It’s a stage where a person’s mind develops. A child grasps whatever he sees, hears and experiences. The mind is really sensitive at that time. We all experience childhood but why do we fail to understand it. It’s the time when that child has creative thoughts which are smart most of the time we, adults, laugh them off. Why do you forget the time when you were a child who was eager for answers to some questions? Whenever you suppress that child’s thought, it effects him in the way more than you think. The child feels stupid and thinks there is no point in conveying their ideas. It’s that point when their creativity keeps dying and they stop thinking outside the box. That child will think about all these things in the stage when he has to choose his course of life and realise that he was right and the adults were wrong.

That child still exists deep inside within every single adult. It maybe hidden somewhere deep inside or maybe you still know him. The main idea of the blog was to never suppress the budding ideas of that child. Let them grow and let him rise.
